We understand that rangatahi will have different experiences in care – some may have been abused and need a confidential and non-judgemental space to talk about this.

The Service is currently available to rangatahi aged 18+ who would like to share their experiences.

While people who are younger than 18 cannot directly share their experiences with us, we can still support you in other ways - we have extensive networks and relationships with rangatahi community organisations and are happy to facilitate introductions with them. Our aim is to ensure anyone who needs a safe place to tell their stories has one.

Building relationships with organisations

We are committed to supporting rangatahi by building relationships with youth services, accessing non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community groups and raising awareness of the service through these groups.

We are working closely with VOYCE – Whakarongo Mai. (external link)

Ongoing and current abuse

We acknowledge that for some rangatahi, abuse may be ongoing and current. The Service is available to people aged 18+ who would like to share their experiences (historical or current), but we cannot investigate ongoing or current abuse – we can connect survivors to the appropriate services though, if this is the case.

For more information about how you can share your experiences, you can visit our For Survivors webpage.
